Letter from Hope - November 2023

November 6, 2023

I hope this email finds you well and filled with the spirit of gratitude as we dive headfirst into the month of November. It's a time when the leaves change colors, the air becomes crisper, and our hearts are reminded to embrace an attitude of gratitude. It's your Chief Encouragement Officer, Hope King, here, and I am so excited to connect with all of you once again.

As we approach a brand new month, it's the perfect opportunity to reflect on all the blessings that surround us, both big and small. So let's take a moment to acknowledge the amazing things happening in our lives and within our classrooms. Whether it's the twinkle in your students' eyes when they finally "get it", enjoying a hot, yes hot, cup of coffee on the weekend (because we know that’s not happening M-F),  or the unwavering support of your teacher bestie, when we take the time to think about it, there is truly so much to be thankful for.

Here are a few ways to infuse gratitude into your teaching journey this November:

  1. Gratitude Journal: Start each day by jotting down three things you're grateful for. It could be a student's "aha" moment, a supportive colleague, or simply a warm cup of coffee to kickstart your day. Commit to this for the entire month and just notice the outcomes.

  2. Hearts of Thanks: Allow your students time to write a quick letter or sticky note expressing their heartfelt appreciation to someone special around the school and personally deliver the note. This will send vibrations of positivity into your building.

  3. Random Acts of Kindness: Intentionally challenge yourself and your students to perform random acts of kindness. Even small gestures can make a big difference in someone's day. Set a goal, stick to it, and see what happens.

  4. Share Your Gratitude: Don't hesitate to express your appreciation for your fellow educators, students, and parents. A simple "thank you" can go a long way in building a positive and supportive community.

Remember, it's not about the grand gestures but the little moments of gratitude that can transform our lives and the lives of those around us. Let's create a ripple effect of positivity and kindness in our classrooms and beyond.

As always, if you have stories of gratitude, teaching triumphs, or anything you'd like to share with our wonderful community, please don't hesitate to reach out. Your stories inspire us all.

Thank you for being a part of the Get Your Teach On family. Let's make November a month filled with gratitude, positivity, and teaching adventures that light up our classrooms and hearts.

With love and endless gratitude for you,
Hope King
