What is Get Your Teach On?
Get Your Teach On (GYTO) specializes in professional development and encouragement for educators and administrators in the form of conferences, workshops and events. GYTO conferences are known for their passionate celebration of teachers and their ability to inspire lifelong learners. Founded in 2016, GYTO now hosts National and Regional Conferences, Virtual Conferences, school and district trainings, and additional events for a wide variety of educators and school administrators each year. GYTO also provides free resources, teacher-focused merchandise and is the parent organization for the worldwide Rock Your School initiative which encourages out-of-the-box teaching.
Are Get Your Teach On sessions based on research and evidence?
All Get Your Teach On sessions are research-backed and evidence-based. When developing sessions for GYTO, each presenter is required to submit research citations with their workshops. Further, all presenters must provide evidence of their content’s efficacy by providing test results or other verifiable metrics showing success in the classroom, school, or district.
Who should attend a Get Your Teach On Conference?
Get Your Teach On conferences provide high-quality and engaging professional development for Pre-K/TK through 8th Grade teachers, school leaders, and district administration. GYTO also offers programming for high school teachers as part of our in-school and district-wide professional development offerings, but this content is not currently offered at our regular conferences.
Additionally, we offer programming specifically for Special Education teachers at our annual GYTO Fest National Conference, and all major conferences offer our Lead On administrator track.
Who are Get Your Teach On’s presenters?
Get Your Teach On works with a variety of educators and administrators for our conferences. All GYTO session presenters are required to submit session proposals prior to their acceptance as a speaker. All speakers are experts in their craft with a proven track record and results to prove it. Presenters must be a current classroom teacher, school or district administrator, or an experienced professional development provider. A speaker’s social media following is not taken into consideration during the selection process.
How long as Get Your Teach On been supporting education?
Get Your Teach On was founded in 2016, and has been providing high-quality professional development for teachers and administrators ever since. All of our GYTO presenters and speakers are classroom teachers, school and district administrators, and professional development providers who bring many years of classroom and school expertise to their sessions and workshops.
Does GYTO offer more than conferences?
Yes! Get Your Teach On’s mission is to support schools and educators. Beyond conferences, GYTO offers on-site school and district trainings, long-term professional development (Collaboration Sites), a wide variety of classroom digital downloads and resources, The Flip Side Podcast, and even apparel, accessories, and other teacher essentials through our GYTO Collective merchandise. GYTO is also the creator and host of Rock Your School: a worldwide student engagement initiative.
